Welcome family to a view of our families. I hope you will find this interesting and useful as I have in creating it. The mechanics of creating this site are interesting (To techies, IT people and nerds). The tree =originates on Ancestry.com. When I want to take a snapshot, I download the tree, source citations and media to "Family Tree Maker 2017" on the Mac. I then export another GEDCOM file and import it into tng (The Next Generation) web software (here). Finally, I FTP the media from FTM to tng.

On The McCoy side, most of us have some Norwegian ancestry - the Vikings that invaded England and Scotland.

McCoy side is predominantly Scottish and English. It started as McKay until sometime in the 1830s

Our Scottish ancestors come from Inverness and Glasgow - mostly

William A. McCoy went to the 1849 gold rush in California

We are descended from the Cooper (barrel maker) on board the Mayflower. His wife was very popular!

One of our 13th great grandmothers was hanged as a witch in Salem
